Cuisinart TOB-100 Compact Digital Toaster Oven Broiler

Very Good Compact Digital Toaster
My wife just purchased the Cuisinart TOB-100 compact digital toaster using her account, as another Black and Decker toaster died. We've had three Black and Decker toasters in a row over the last 15 years or so because they have been a great value, however each successive unit has failed more rapidly.

We decided to spend a bit more money for the stainless steel look and the Cusinart brand (hoping for lasting quality). We found that we did not want a huge toaster and noticed that this one is similar in size as before. We made our buying decision when we learned that the TOB-100 was also digital and the price was right at $100.

Since this is an early review (looks like the first), we decided to give the TOB-100 4-stars, however it could earn 5-stars later when we update our review and have more experience with the product.

SO FAR SO GOOD
i purchased this item to replace an old black and decker infrawave oven that i had for years. i didn't realize how much i had used the oven until i was without it. took my time and reviewed all the products listed on amazon.com and then narrowed my selection down to three that i felt fit my needs the best. the cuisinart came out the winner due to it's size, brand name and the functions it said it could perform. it came very quickly and the packaging was fabulous. i was very pleased when i opened the box.

PROS

the product was exactly as pictured, instructions were easy to read and understand. i liked the fact that there was a separate instruction sheet (one page) that broke down how to use each button on the product and what position the racks should be in to use that function. i can keep it close by without having to deal with the entire instruction booklet until i get used to how to work the oven.

Less space needed, great for singles
I chose this Toaster Broiler because I needed something that would not take up a lot of counter space. I also wanted a well known brand and Cuisinart has some of the best ratings out there. I have been using this product for over two months now and I have not found any of the problems that people have written about in the past. I have not had a problem with toasting at all and just adjusted the toast level to a lower level rather than burning the bread. I have not had any flames or fires like some have said, just great toast. I have used the bake setting for baking meat loaf, pizza, salmon, chicken and much more and got more than I asked for. I have used the broiler for steak, hamburger, hot dogs, etc. and with care in the beginning by checking it a lot (to get used to it) the broiling got to be routine. I love this item, it is great for a single person and takes up little room on the counter. I have no problems at all with the way it sounds (beeping) or the flashing when shutting...
